OUR MISSION

  Through presenting in-house, free, professional concerts, Idaho Concerts in Care aims to contribute positively to the mental, physical and spiritual health of our Idahoans in care.  Through music, our goal is to enrich the quality of life of people who make their homes in residential care.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to serve as many residents in care as possible in the Treasure Valley with a scope to expand throughout Idaho.  We hope that this new offering of professional concerts will foster joy and positivity and will be seen as an integral part of excellent care for those who are living in care homes.

MUSIC AS MEDICINE

Research shows that music is beneficial for people struggling with a change of location, memory loss, and social isolation.

Listening to music helps them to remember familiar places and events and to make associations with happy times through musical memories.

This is important because lifestyle changes can be isolating for seniors who have had to leave their own homes for residential care. Idaho Concerts in Care fills this gap with professional live music.

While we are the first to offer this service in Idaho, the program was started in British Columbia in 2006 and since then has expanded to every province in Canada. https://concertsincare.ca/british-columbia/

Since receiving non-profit status in February, 2022,  Idaho Concerts in Care has presented 30 concerts in care homes across the Treasure Valley.
